Today, it takes only one person, or one child, to make allegation of rape or molestation, and the public erupts in a frenzy. The prosecution often believes the person who is making the accusation, even where there is little or no corroborating evidence. Tragically, the penalties can be as severe as life in prison, depending of course on the particular facts.

Defenses to Sex Crimes

These cases often require substantial investigation by a private investigator. We have good relationships with experienced private investigators who have experience in these matters.

The investigation may reveal possible evidence of bias, a history of fabrication and dishonesty, or a motive to lie. If a child is making the allegation, perhaps another adult is telling the child to lie. Or, perhaps another adult is committing the molestation, but the child wants to protect him by accusing another.

In cases of rape or alleged rape alleged by an adult, various reasons may also exist for the alleged victim to lie. Each case is investigated and defended on its own unique set of facts.
